About

Platform Engineer & Software Architect with 8+ years of experience on cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven systems.

Who I am

I'm Valerio Uberti. For the past 8+ years I've been designing cloud-native, serverless, and event-driven systems — the kind that have to survive real production traffic, not a demo. Most of that time has gone into architecture and platform engineering: setting technical direction, defining standards for infrastructure and CI/CD, and making trade-offs explicit so teams can move fast without guessing what's actually running.

I work mainly in Python and TypeScript/Node.js on AWS, building automation and tooling that removes toil instead of adding process. More recently that includes bringing AI-assisted workflows into production — as a copilot, not a replacement for judgment. I'm based in Bergamo, Italy, and I write for developers who want to make better technical decisions.

I built this site to share lessons learned in the field, not generic tutorials. My approach is practical: I show the problem, the context, the solution, the trade-offs, and runnable code.

Technical principles

  • Simplicity before complexity — the best code is the code you don't have to write.
  • Documented trade-offs — every choice has a cost; I show it explicitly.
  • AI as a copilot, not a replacement — AI accelerates, but technical judgment stays human.
  • Performance as a feature — speed is an indicator of architectural quality, not an afterthought.
